From the NIN Hotline:

Release Dates for Nine Inch Nails and Keane
Readers of High Fidelity Review will recall that Universal Music added the albums Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails and Hopes and Fears by Keane to their list of Surround Sound SACDs that would be "Coming Soon" a few weeks back. This week, Universal has moved both of these Surround Sound SACDs from that list to a projected in store available date of November 23, 2004.

· Keane - Hopes and Fears (Interscope)
· Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral (Nothing/Interscope)

Not totally related, but I am excited to hear that NIN is trying to go back to the Downward Spiral era sound. I love the fragile, it's a nice organic, soul-touching set. Yet, I can't wait to hear what kind of evil, twisted sounds Trent and Clouser can come up with, because they are both phenomenal at finding the right complients to any mood.

Charlie is no longer in NIN. He hasn't been for quite some time. frown

Cool. Both are great albums. Downward Spiral should sound great in Dolby 5.1.

Pretty Hate Machine. Might as well start at the beginning. smile But perhaps you should start with the Fragile. Yes, start with the Fragile. smile

Oh. Gross. Lets take the digitalisation of music that one step further shall we?

puke puke

Although, with a good speaker set up I should expect it to sound better than your average CD. Still...

I'm actually really happy about the re-release.

I ripped all my cds to mp3 (because I have nowhere to keep my cds) and the sound quality of that cd just isn't up to par -- I'm excited.

This is by far the best news for audiophiles since the Dark Side of the Moon SACD!

That Deluxe Edition series is also really cool, mainly because they updated The Who's Live at Leeds with a complete live performace of Tommy.

Now if only Michael Jackson would just die so someone could do the same for all the Beatles albums. For christ's sake, all their CDs still come with instructions on how to "take care of your Compact Disc Harware".

By the way, does anyone in this thread besides me have an SACD compatible player and 5.1 sound system? If not, you simply don't know what you're missing. wink
