There's a Kerry/Edwards campaign rally starting just down the street from my office. I believe I just heard the chorus of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For being blasted from the very loud PA system the organizers have set up. I think the sound guys probably are using it to test the PA- It's not a Kerry campaign song to my knowledge. What would it say, though, if it were?

What are some other great and/or ironic campaign songs? I'll start with the classic Reagan campaign using Born in the USA. Has anybody else fucked with the disconnect between intent and perception in such an obvious way?

I thought Bob Doles use of "Fuck Faces" by Scarface was a bit odd.

Hrm. I just remembered the Dole campaign's aborted use of Soul Man with the chorus overdubbed as "I'm a Dole man". The Godfather was not pleased, as they hadn't gotten permission. Not to mention that Bob Dole is perhaps the least soulful presidential candidate since... Dukakis?
