I don't see the big deal about a band you like getting popular.

I was going to write an essay on this but I'll just leave it at that. It's only a problem if you make it a problem.

I did like the lyrics on the second song they performed...what was it called?

"We're going to be frineds" is a supercute song. It's my favorite on that album.

i think they're mediocre musicians, but the lyrics i dig a lot.
the guitar work is actually pretty good. i think you mean that the drumming is mediocre, or at least i hope you do. they write some good stuff that has been written off now that they are popular. i am over people who are over successful bands.

when i first heard them i thought they were awesome...and i still listen to them a lot. i haven't really been around in the states lately to really see how huge they've become so the overexposure doesn't really affect me, but i do understand that problem with people growing out of a band when they hit it big. i don't see anything wrong with being able to do what you love to do and get paid for it. as for their music, i think it entertaining in the fact that it's so simple. i saw them in a tiny little club in nashville last year and i thought it was awesome. they were very animated and the show was really good, especially the cover of "jolene" by dolly parton. but the thing with these type of bands on t.v. is weird to me. when i saw trail of the dead on letterman, they SUCKED! and i love that band. but they were soooooo out of tune and it was just balls. and my girlfriend told me that seeing sleater kinney on conan was terrible cause they sucked compared to seeing them live. she had just seen them in atlanta and said it was one of the best shows she's ever seen. i also saw white stripes on craig kilborn once and it was very mediocre...i guess when you take away a croud for these people it takes all the good stuff away from their performance. ok i think i'm done now.
