Me and a friend were planning to do a local music scene website with reviews and stuff, and groans/moans about venues etc. Now me and my friend (as maybe some of you know) have come to a time where he thinks I hate him, and I just don't want friends who accuse me of shit. Anyway
I'm still wanting to do the music site. It's something i've wanted to do for a long time. I just don't want to use the same basis for the site as was planned with me and ex-friend. I need ideas/advice/tips/suggestions for the new layout, the content, how to piece it out, local advertising, maybe some promo stuff with local venues. I would be liking to do this with someone else though, but I don't think any more of my now friends would be interested in doing it. My missus probably wouldn't be interested either.
If I was doing local gig reviews, I'd find it increasingly difficult to get to a good/standard level of gigs that may be deemed possible.
My call for help didn't go very well, but ebreeze contacted me, and I suggested something I'd been thinking of. Like twinning of cities, we suggested covering the venues in our local areas, me Birmingham UK, him California USA and do local reviews on "local" bands. Then just compare what the scenes are between the two different countries, and maybe set up a franchise
maybe a few in each country, expanding countries eventually
I even thought of advertising on site for music labels and the like, get funding and pay for gig entries for doing reviews and stuff.
