MUSIC: Bowie's Heart Problems Cause of Sudden Cancellations

David Bowie, 57, underwent arterial heart surgery last week in Germany, after doctors discovered the condition during an examination into what Bowie believed was a pinched nerve in his shoulder.

The 'shoulder injury' was attributed to the sudden cancellation of numerous festival appearances, and the cancellation of 11 major European dates. One of which, saw him replaced by a natural choice - Slipknot.

Bowie is now re-cooperating in his New York home, after leaving hospital earlier this week.

He is expected to be back to work next month.

I was at one of the canceled dates. We were pissed...until we just figured out that he actually was in bad shape. We were only told that he wasn't coming becuase he "didn't feel well."
