I go for pretty much anything electronic, so I'll dance to trance. I prefer EBM or Industrial.

I'd recommend you check out Covenant (Swedish band) or early Velvet Acid Christ and try to work that into your repertoire.

I love to dance, but down own any of the stuff - it's not something I'd play at home sans dance-floor.

I love minimal/dubby/glitchy four-to-the-floor techno; never been a big trance fan--the chord progressions and production techniques get really predictable after a while. Pl

there are many noticeable differences between most forms of electronic music...trance/progressive house is quite different from minimal techno.

Trance tends to stick to archetypical I-IV-V and ii-V-I progressions a lot more; the rhythms in trance tend to vary a lot more than in techno--the rhythms can be syncopated just as easily as than can place the emphasis strictly on "1"; Trance producers tend to stick w/digital snyths as opposed to heavily manipulated samples and analog and (sometimes) tube driven electronics which are used in techno along with said digital devices. Also, techno DJ's tend to be allowed use of tracks that span the entire history of the genre, where Trance (as with DnB) DJ's are expected to constantly play the newest, most "cutting edge" tracks available. Trance is also a lot more "rolly" than techno tends to be.
