With all this the worst this and that going around, i was just curious, what are the 3 worst shows youve ever seen and why.

my top 3

50 cent: show starts at 10 dosent get on stage until 2 fuckin thirty. WHAT the fuck. Lets not forget that he cant even keep time with the music, or remember the words to his songs, or do any rhythmic movements on stage beside bounce his pecs up and down. mad

Dillinger escape plan: I saw these yahoos up in portland. Now i like hardcore death metal as much as any scared African American but god damn. I mean the locust were opening and i liked them, then D.E.P hits the stage (a stark contrast from the skinny boys of the locust) huge burly muscle heads hit the stage and proceed to make a noise worse then a baby with a fever while the lead singer has so many veins coming out of his neck he looks like he is trying to shit a baby coverd in tobasco sauce. (whew)

Modest mouse: I know to alot of yall im breaking hearts but i was having fun this that lisping mother fucking hit me in the head with a giant fucking stream of spit. I know anyone who has seen one of these shows knows what im talking about.

aside from lame basement shows and bar bands I think seeing the Faint (who have a really good album) or Interpol (who didn't inspire me to buy their record) were the worst shows I have seen....

7 Mary Three - it was at a radio festival. God-awful. They butchered the Doors "Five to One" so bad they were halfway thorugh before I recognized it.

Guns N Roses - I was at the show in St Louis that ended with him leaping into the crowd and punching a friend of one of the security guards. Not a very good show, even before the abrupt end that lead to a full-scale riot...

Nuttstalk 97 - OK so, Norwood Fisher of Fishbone forms a P-Funk type band with some ex P-Funk members as well as members of Thelonious Monster, Weapon of Choice and John Frusciante. Sounds cool, right? Well you'd be wrong. John Fursciante played a few solo songs and that was the only part worth seeing.

smashing pumpkins, Boston circa 1995

played for 1hr 10 minutes, songs were entirely uninspired, they get an A+ for trying to recreate the songs on siamese dream note for note with the studio tracks.
played one song from gish, and introduced it as "from an album none of you have probably even heard of"

Yeah, I saw the Pumpkins open unannounced for Jane's Addiction in 97 and they were pretty bad. For the exact opposite reasons you gave. They played only songs from Melon Collie and since they canned Jimmy Chamberlain, they had the drummer from Filter who seemed to only have one speed, regardless if they were playing "Zero" or "Porcelina". puke And yet, they still weren't as bad as the three I posted above...

edited because i'm typing like I'm drunk...

worst live show i ever went to was a limp bizkit one WAY back in the day when fred had long hair. NO I NEVER LIKED THEM, i was drunk in a hotel with some friends and the club happened to be across the street and we were like "hey unh durrrhurrr les go see a metal shooow" and stumbled in. it was way too crowded, and fred was a total prick through the whole show, then at the end he said "lets get all the ladies up here, this is for you ladies!" so of course all the dumb chicks wearing wife beaters and adidas pants went up there trying thier damndest to look all cool and sexy then all of a sudden fred starts singing some song about women bieng bitches and literally grabbing the girls and slinging them offstage. luckily i wasnt dumb enough to have went running up onstage in the first place but honestly if i HAD and that mother fucker had went to grab me i wouldve kicked his nuts like a irish soccer player.

NO WAY! Thats awesome!!! lol

Placebo @ the big day out (Milton Keynes '99). They sucked.
Placebo @ Reading Festival (I think 2000). They sucked some more.
I cant really say that any other (non-local) band has reached the levels of suck that Placebo did.

I saw Limp Bizkit Reading Festival a few years back, and they were actually really enjoyable. I've always hated their music (except Counterfeit, I love/d that tune), but they were pretty cool on stage in the summer sun.

1. The White Mice. Their sound can only be described as the aural equivilant of vomiting. Luckily, they opened for Lightning Bolt and Lightning Bolt was so good that I almost didn't care about that hour of my life that The White Mice took from me. Still though, they are the single worst band I've ever seen.

2. Taking Back Sunday. I've seen them twice, once headlining (I went to see From Autumn To Ashes, who opened) and once opening for Saves The Day. Aside from that whole being an awful band thing, their stage presence was terrible, they couldn't play in time, and the singer couldn't pronounce what words he actually remembered.

3. Les Savy Fav. They weren't actually bad live; in fact they were pretty good. But they are definitely the most over rated live band in the world. From everything I'd read and heard from assorted indie kids and publications, Les Savy Fav was the greatest, most intense live band to ever exist. That's when I realized that said indie kids and publications don't know what a real show is.

However, I've seen both Dillinger and The Faint, and I thought they were both good.

I worked in a concert venue for 7 years so I've seen an ass-load of bad shows but I will try to filter out the worst.

1. Eminem 1999.
Was on stage a whoping 35 minutes and sang that damn "Slim Shady" song 3 fucking times

2. The Insane Clown Posse Every time.
Heros to white trash mother fuckers everywhere......but if you've ever had to clean up after them you would know.

3. Snopp Dogg.
Doors for the show were at 9 o'clock. Snoop staggers out on stage at 1 am only to stagger back off at 1:30 am.

PS this wasn't meant to be any anti-rap kinda thing.

1. Papa Roach at Ozzfest '01
Learn to keep tempo fellas. Thankfully Manson made it worth staying.

2. Linkin Park, same venue
One step closer blah blah yeah yeah whatever

3. Jimmy Page with the Black Crowes
Why? Because it was cancelled last minute without notice by the promotors. No hard feelings Jimmy, we're still cool.

1)Tribe Called Quest, The Channel, Boston MA
Hey guys , 25 minutes and 3 songs(one of which is a medley) does not count.
2)David Bowie, Foxboro Stadium, MA
Is it really greatest hits if they sound worse than they did in the car radio on the way to the concert? Fuck you, dave...i want my money back.
3)Biz Markie, Avalon(?) boston MA.
Is biz really cool, or is he seriously retarded? This is a serious question.
4) Cat Power, twice.
Finish a song...Please...
5) HR without the Bad Brains, the Bad Brains without HR

The best part about it was the look on Knifefight's face the whole time. You know that look of disgusted disapproval your mom gives you when you do something she really doesn't like? Yeah, it was that look.

worst live show i've ever seen is CRYSTAL METHOD.

i have a true appreciation for any type of music that can be created by doo-dads, buzzers, and buttons.. which i would have assumed with thier music. I was, however, horribly dissapointed in that it was two guys on stage triggering long tracks of sequenced music while bobbing their heads, masked with a misdirecting light show.

far different than say... captured by robots, or even competition of manual dexterity using computerized equipment i've seen from many "nobodies"

2nd worst show i'd ever seen was an attempt to put on a show by the local art college CIA (cleveland institute of art.) it was a pathetic expression of "hey look how weird i am cuz i'm an artist"

3rd.. thinking... toss up between many..

arg, i can't decide.. regardless of the "type" of music, i can't stand when it is apparent that the performance is a mechanical, rote display in order to perpetuate an idea.

They Might Be Giants at little ass Western Maryland College. I left after 4 songs to go watch the Bullets lose to the Bulls in the playoffs, because that ws more enjoyable. I was pissed by how much they didn't seem to care and talked like Westminster was the coolest town on Earth. What a bunch of BS.

Two, I'll go with Scott Weiland at HFStival when he released his solo album. Love him to death with STP and now Velvet Revolver, but the solo gig was a big let down.

Three: High school graduation and our class attempting to sing the school song. Possibly worse than They Might be Giants, but at least we had an excuse.
