That's sad. He's got boatloads of amazing music. I'm still trying to get caught up.

Well I don't think you have to worry about any new albums.

Actually, he'd completed an album prior to his death:

LA Times

Before he died, Charles finished an album, "Genius Loves Company," his first new album since 2001. Scheduled for release Aug. 31, it also includes Norah Jones, BB King, Willie Nelson, Michael McDonald, Bonnie Raitt, Gladys Knight, Johnny Mathis and James Taylor .

"Music was one of my parts," Charles said in his autobiography. "Like my blood. It was a force already with me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me - like food or water."

So Sad.

So Sad.

All the greats. Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Elmore James, Muddy Waters and now Ray Charles. I know there are more that can be added to that list.

Makes me miss Blues Fest in Chicago. I havn't seen on that compares.

I know i hate having to register for these things too. You're a newspaper, do your job and report news. You're not special. get over it.

Very sad say in music History.

Glad the flags are already at halfstaff. He was truly an American musical legend.

I am sad about it..he was definately a cool cat, but like it has been said, he'd want us to celebrate his life, accomplishments and his music rather than mourn... I've always loved that picture of Ray with the mic backwards...and no I don't feel guilty laughing about it even now..you know he would have laughed too if he could see himself doing it biggrin
