Okay, so lately I've been cycling through the library of nearly 500 MP3s on my comp. Most of them I still listen to, but some of them are dusty from ages of playlessness (yes...I did just make that up, AND?!). So, now I'm listening to those old songs, and damn it, I love them still!! *Skips over a Sevendust song* okay some of them I still love...So now, I bring you the Guilty Pleasures thread. Post the bands, songs, albums, or anything musical that you like that isn't really your thing but you still love it. I'm talking things that you'd usually be ashamed to admit.

I'll embarass the hell out of myself first...

I like Story of the Year and Lost Prophets. I wouldn't spend money on their music, but I do turn the music up when they come on the radio...*Sigh* Stone me to death now... shocked

Slipknot, Mudvayne, Deadsy, Boys Night Out (if they had the typical lyrics for the type of music they play, I'd hate them for sure), the first Static X record(when they were "prong for kids" . . or at least that's what I used to refer to them as), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - comin' out of our shells, japanese glam rock (Dir en grey and that sorta shit)

For some reason "Genie in a Bottle" always plays when I set my MP3's on random, but I rarely skip over it.

No such thing as a guilty pleasure. If you feel bad about liking it, you don't really like it.

Andrew WK told me that, and I gotta agree.

I swear I have good taste in music and a great collection. I worked at a hole in the wall record store in AK for christ's sake. But... Hi. I am not ashamed to claim liking any kind of music..except Chumbawamba..and Ace of fucking Bass...if you play either of those damn bands and I am near you..get ready to lose some eyeballs!! *grabs fork* biggrin

...as for Lost Prophets, Mudvayne, Deadsy, Slipknot, Static-X and Story of the Year??? those are some of my favorite bands..ostracize me if you will, but I have no shame tongue I liked them all long before they became 'popular' and I don't bail on a band just because they 'make it big', or others like them...if I liked a band's music at one time in my life..it's a pretty good bet I still like it now

I dunno... I don't really feel "guilty" per se about anything in my collection, but I think maybe I'm supposed to about the Bay City Rollers. I've loved 'em since I was a little kid and I still do... and I'll be the first to admit that a lot of their recorded works is sugary bubblegum tripe, but when they chose to rock they did it really well ("Yesterday's Hero", "Wouldn't You Like It", "Let's Go", "Saturday Night").

Phil Collins. I have three 12-inchers, eight 7'-inchers and a cd for good measure. Love the shit. Not in an ironic way.
In My Pocket by Mandy Moore.
Toxic, Boys, Slave 4 U, etc. by Britney.
Africa by Toto.
Heaps of 80s tracks.
Duran Duran especially.

Oh I could go on and on.
