that's funny. i can't seem to find it anywhere.

is that purely by word of mouth? i bought AP's most important metal for 2004, and started downloading stuff that i thought i'd like. that record blew me away.

May I be the first to call the band fucking sell-out mall-metal for kids? wink

Actually, I reckon that's pretty cool.

Editted to add sarcasm smiley.

I'm going to see them and In Flames tomorrow night, so I reckon you are a fuckwit. They may not be as metal as Slayer, but they still fuckin rock! I've seen them once already, and if they weren't metal, I wouldn't go back for seconds!

wicked bill! i just bought the Soundtrack To Your Escape a couple weeks ago, and I love that one too.

Slayer's probably not a good example, since no one is, nor will anyone ever be, as metal as Slayer!

Awesome...I'm not a huge fan, but it always makes me happy when a succeeds on merit of hardwork touring and recording, etc. instead of bullshit PR hype...

Just out of curiousity -- do you know how number 1 - 3 are for the top selling records in Roadrunner history?

On a side, somewhat unrelated note, I think that it slays that Roadrunner signed Three Inches of Blood.

37,000 copies gets you number 21 on Billboard?

Interesting. My drummer has gotten me more into Killswitch lately, they are pretty sweet.

They're no ZAO though...

37,000 units * 15.00...That's $555,000 dollars...That's quite a bit for a band not on MTV ( the main channel) and rarely on any other music channel unless it's on Headbanger's Ball on MTV2. With little advertising except word of mouth and alot of touring...That's a huge amount!!

if they got their cd on the new releases rack at target, there's a bit more going on than word of mouth...

...Pantera's gotten their CDs on more than 1 CD rack at a major store...and they're based on word of mouth...as have many other bands...Your point?

'37,000 units * 15.00...That's $555,000 dollars...'

And the band will see about um... 50,000 of that if they are lucky.

These guys are going the way of 18 Visions. They had some good "metalcore" cd's under their belt, then get big.. and put out a cd that sounds like nu-metal.

Howard is way better in Blood Has Been Shed anyway.

"Metalcore" is pretty much "nu-metal" anyway. It isn't that far of a shift.

The difference between a band like Poison The Well and Linkin Park is monumental, if you actually listen to it.
