i saw Britney's Onyx tour on European MTV last night.
Besides the fact that she doesn't sing on most songs, i believe madonna should "sue" her: Hotel Onyx is so much like bedtime stories's era (as far as the stage act goes) it's truly embarassing....

i thought Toxic was a good song, i can see now it's only an accident...

I don't know many twentysomethings who could retire. I would hardly call it a trainwreck.

I watched the show (or got through watching about 10 minutes of it until I couldn't take it anymore and then went to my computer to do other things while it was on) one night at about 3 in the morning when I couldn't sleep. I thought maybe there was something I wasn't getting about the Britney Spears phenomena (besides her "do-ability"). Perhaps she's a great performer in concert? Nope, she's wretched there as well. She was lip synching most of the time (frequently missing the lyrics) and when she sang one or two songs she was so completely out of tune she wouldn't have gotten past the auditions on American Idol. In fact, she would probably have been one of those contestants that the judges all stared at, not saying a word, wondering how the hell this person thought they could sing. She also was being way too dramatic.

The funniest part was when they had her behind a piano for one song. I was thinking, I don't believe she's playing until they show the keys. They never showed the keys. They did have a long shot of her from the back and her arms were barely moving. And then in the middle of the song she got up and started singing. I mean, if you're going to fake it atleast commit to it, otherwise what's the point?

I figured maybe her strong point was dancing. Alas, the mystery was to remain unsolved. A lot of what I saw was her standing on some sort of pedastel gyrating. And when she dancing on the floor it was just a lot of weird arm movements and hip shaking.

But she's got more money than I will ever have and I'm glad for her. And I've solved my own mystery. She's basically a brand name, like Aunt Jemima or Sara Lee. They put her face on something and it sells.

Wow....I've written way too much on this topic. I need to sleep.

I happen to catch some of it on Showtime. She said "shit" on tv: hooray for pay cable. She's hot and...well, that's about all I can think of.
