This seems like a good place to find some info...

i'm looking for some more rockabilly band to satisfy my new obsession...

so far i like
Nekromantix
Tiger Army
Horrorpops <- (i REALLY heart The HPS)
Stray Cats
Social Distortion (i guess their would be more oldschool punk than RB, but i dunno)

Man, here you go, a list of some of the best rockabilly and psychobilly:

The Meteors (The original psychobilly band)
Demented Are Go
The Guana Batz
Batmobile
Godless Wicked Creeps
Coffin Nails
The Reverend Horton Heat
The Stray Cats
The Frantic Flintstones
The Hillbilly Hellcats

Bands who aren't quite rockabilly or psychobilly but are close enough to warrant mention:
The Cramps
Social Distortion
Southern Culture on the Skids
The Runaway Boys
The Supersuckers
Screamin' Jay Hawkins

And finally, shameful self promotion of my own band, also in a similar vein as those above, but with more southern rock and punk:
I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House

There is a great website called The Wrecking Pit that is the best place on the web to find any and all psychobilly related shit. Hope this was helpful!

RoyalCrown is more big Band but works in the Rockabilly arena. I like Big Sandy and the Flyrite boys, The Palildans, Jason and the Scorchers, The Rev. Heat, Carl Perkins, The Meteors,.........man there are so many! It's late but if you want to go to one of the best shows, every year the James Dean gallery puts on a great weekend long Rockabilly festival in Freemont Indiana. Now I went for 4 years straight but I haven't been in over 7 years so I would hope it's still going.Call to find out. Also in Socal.....the Hootnanny every summer.Theres BBQ's, people and bands come from all over the world to the James Dean festival.

You're thinking of Royal Crown Review. Royal Crown Review kinds does big bang/swing. The Amazing Royal Crowns are pretty much rockabilly.

Many of the artists I like have already been mentioned.....but there's also Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Wanda Jackson, Gene Vincent & the Blue Caps, & Elvis.

There's a bazillion made-up classifications.

Psychobilly
Punkabilly
Gothabilly

They seem kinda silly to me...a pompadour, standup bass & three chords do not a rockabilly band make.

But it's all in good fun. That's why I love this kind of music. Rockabilly, in all its forms, is just plain fun music.

You can also find rockabilly in the most unsuspecting places.

Did you know that Morrissey, The Violent Femmes & The Hoodoo Gurus all have rockabilly-type songs?

You may also want to check out the nullKIngs of Nuthin'

and for those of you who like surf/punk check out the Turbo AC's.

Okay, I've plugged my favorite local bands now.
