I'm a big fan of band logos and other items that a lot of bands use. Some are derived from actual fonts. Others are created by some form or another. Yet I'm torn between 2 things that a lot of 70's and 80's bands did. A few had a logo and never changed it, so it was always consistant. Such as KISS and Iron Maiden.

However, some changed it every album and gave it a bit more of a "time period" feel to it. Such as RUSH and Motley Crue. There are some advantages to both actually.

But otherwise, my faves would be:
KISS
THIN LIZZY (stacked or stright line)
Motley Crue's (Theatre of Pain era)
TWISTED SISTER (esp. the "TS" logo!)
the MIAMI VICE logo was a Broadway font but the "Vice" part was broadway with breaks in it similar to a military stamping on army property.
NIRVANA's logo was the same as their music - simple and to the point!!

that's about it off the top of my head at 2:30 in the am! biggrin

Slainte!
