i know it's been awhile since he's been popular, but i saw something the other day that reminded me of him. i never got into his music, but alot of people who i thought had good taste in music loved him. i thought his music sounded like over-produced kiddie-metal. what's cool about this guy?

Remember the time you first saw or read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. And thought, "who made up this crap? this is so weird and ridiculous." Then you found out it was more like a toned down version of the real thing. And you were like, "I heart this...I heart this a lot."

It's kind of like that.

He has a great attitude, I'll give him that much.

That MTV show with him at the black college was the best thing I had seen up to that point, too.

He is all about attitude, energy, fun, rocking out. He puts himself into his music, and he loves his fans and his fans love him back.

And that's what rock music should be, something to pump you up, get you ready to go out, party, kick ass, etc. Andrew W.K. is one cool motherfucker and should be given credit as such. He is rock in its purest form.

So, I caught this thing about him on TVa while ago. There was nothing else on and I thought "Weell, I already hate him, but I could always use more ammo." Back in the day, he had his music on a CD and performed along to it.

They interview this friend of his, they're talking about when he got a record deal and the guy says that he asked Andrew WK what he was going to do with the money from the label and he said "I'm going to get a CD player that doesn't skip!"

It didn't even come to mind that he could have a band now, or chicks, or his very own gold tuxedo. I laughed and realized I liked him because he's an ass.

see, that's what i couldn't figure out about the people i knew who liked him. ...if they were just slumming, or if it was more sincere.

I like him because he's from Michigan. The most pure rockers are from Michigan.

He's probably the nicest man on the planet.

At the Warped Tour he stayed at his little merch booth until 10PM, when the show started to shut down, talking to fans. I believe he was on stage around 1-2PM. That's at least eight hours of dedication to the people who enjoy his music.

No, you're just quicker... and cuter. And, well, more original. But mine was a Strong Bad thing which naturally means it's funnier. So let's see that's... 3 for you and 1 for me. Crap, you still win.

I always thought he seemed like a koo guy to party with and showed TONS of dedication to the fans, but he needs to take a bath with his dirty ass clothes.

Oh yeah, I forgot I saw him in concert in Detroit and he fucking rocked. Half the audience got onstage with him. He carried people on his soulders and the band was spot-on. Even with 300 people jammed on stage with them.

I have nothing but respect for the guy. He's the most down to earth "rock-star" i have ever had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with. He's genuinely a nice guy and will do anything for his fans. (he's done autograph sessions that lasted for hours just because he wanted to get to know everyone he met and he stayed till every last fan got to meet him) His music is what i like to call "happy metal." It's like Disney music on speed! Not to mention his live show is so intense and crazy everyone can't help but get into it. I've seen shows of his when there were more fans on stage then there were band members! I have the craziest taste in music so i guess it's acceptable and it's all Mike Pattons fault! Well...i wouldnt' say fault. Check out my profile pic, it's me and the AWK himself. biggrin
