its a great video to watch on mute

that's literally what i had to do to see what all were talking about... i started it with the volume up, then found myself wincing and feeling a tremendous need to close the tab with the video running... but upon trying just turning the volume off i could get through the remaining 80% of the video.

I haven't like Korn for a little while now, but this is the best song I've heard from them in a long time.
as for the message in the video. . .if they mean that shit, then yeah, cool

This may be a little off topic but here goes.

ive been a firm beliver that radio sucks for years (especially where i live) I listen to it for maybe an hour a week, and i atribute that to a curious nature. If you dont like it then dont listen to it. It is more than a little stupid to complain about something that you can easily remove from your life.

And about korn. This is the first time in a long time that i have been able to listen to them without wanting to run out of the room screaming. If a little hypocracy is the price we pay for this new cd.....i think i can deal with that.

Radio was sold out by Bill Clinton and the Republicans in 1996, when he signed the Death Warrent for rock'n'roll A.K.A the Telecom Act of 1996. It was the single most distructive governemnt act to effect Rock since Al Gore's PMRC hearings of the mid 80's.

If anyone cares there is all kinds of info on this act out there, and there is currently a movement to revoke it, I think I heard that John McCain of all people is behind it. The telecom act has been called "the act of uninteded consenquences', as it was to lower cable rates and phone rates, and did neither while allowing Clear Channel and Infinity Broadcasting (Disney) to control most of the comerical radio stations in the USA.

end rant.

it's rather interesting to see korn even mentioned on these boards... i remember when i was in jr high and all the 'underground' kids dug korn so much... harsh... not too mainstream, and for some reason you had a valued opinion if you listened to them.... and ever since they became a household name everyone i knew not only said things like "yeah their new stuff sucks but i like their first album"... they started pretending they never even listened to the band in the first place...... pretty lame i believe

Wow, resurrected a pretty lame thread after being dead for 3 1/2 months AND a double post for your first attempt. Who should kill themselves?

Infinity is actually owned by Viacom (CBS), although Disney does own several radio stations in large markets, under ABC radio. Rumors started flying that Viacom was going to sell off the Infinity radio division once Mel Karmazin resigned, but so far nothing has come of it.

The 1996 Telecom Act ruined this industry. If you lost your job in radio before 1996, you could just knock on doors of other radio stations across town. Chances are there were several other stations with several other owners. Nowadays, one market is likely to only have two, maybe three owners.

When you see suits in interviews saying "radio is stronger and better than ever," don't believe the hype. If they don't drink the Kool-Aid they lose their jobs too.

Clear Channel's big boss has even said that they are not in the business of providing information and entertainment but serving the stockholders and advertisers.
