I'm lame went to punkrock high school USA and didn't have a clue what: The Misfits, PIL, The Cramps, The Exploited were about, I just saw the tee shirts around. In 1987 about a dozen of the 325 students in my school had devil locks and I recall thinking it was the most uncomfortable hair style ever.
But John 'Can't Tell No One' Brannon of Negative Approach fame worked the counter of the local army surplus store and I'm sure I saw him around. Lurking around the downtown area at the same time were: Members of the Necros, G.G. Allin, Dee Dee Ramone, Richard Hell, members of Mission of Burma, and local boys the State. I knew none of them, I knew nothing about it, but I'm sure that I drifted past it all.
history is a bitch. Enjoy what you have around you now, soon it will be gone and a million kids will tell you they wish they were there... if you are lucky,.
