Lacuna Coil predates Evanescence. Comalies, the album that single is off of, was released in October 2002. Evanescence's album didn't come out until March 2003.

Lacuna Coil also has three full albums under their belt. Their first EP came out in 1998, I believe.

When I first heard Evanescence on the radio, I thought they must've bought the Lacuna Coil album, copied everything, then nu-metaled it up for the american audience.

You forgot to add, they are fucking italian, and the lead girl of Lacuna Coil is way way way hotter than the girl from evanescence. lacuna coil wins.

I told him I would never spend the money to go to an ozzfest in previous years. now....i dunno....

its worth it. the tickets are kinda overpriced, but its an all day event with a ton of similarly minded people. You get to meet a ton of cool people and check out endless sets.

*this is when a musical elitest comes in and bitches about how they 'cant stand x, y and z band...why would i wanna waste my time and money'...but in the end once you are there, its a fun day.... and the Jager girls are hot*

Hatebreed is headlining 2nd, so it wouldnt happen
this is the only year a 2nd stag band from the previous yr hasnt been bumped o main

-i think i said this in another thread...not sure though. anyway, hatebreed was ofered the main stage but they turned it down because they didn't want to play to the seats. they wanted to play to an open area where kids could dance.

HORRIBLE LINEUP. BAD.

Fuck Dimmu Borgir, they used to be really respectable.

First off:

-They kicked Barker out of the band. What .. the FUCK?
-Ozzfest? Is Black Metal to ANY degree about OZZFEST? What the fuck x2.
-They go through members like water.
-Their new CD blows ass.

Dimmu was once my favorite band but .. they're joining the likes of Cradle of Filth. And I abhor COF. Man, this pisses me off.

More:

-Lamb of God sucks now. I still love Randy though. His inhale screams > Everyone.
-Hatebreed was enjoyed by me until the CD after their first. What's up with bands first CD being the best then shit goes down hill?

I'm done ... sorry if I pissed anyone off.

I think Cradle of Filth is really funny. They seem like a parody of the whole black metal thing rather than a serious band.

This is a friggin great lineup!!!!! Having to wait until August sucks ass. There are plenty of other shows until then though, yaaay. Also, I imagine a few more bands will be added to the second stage to make it an even stronger bill. \m/

Auditions will take place from coast to coast to find the next big thing and once they are found, they will be on the second stage of OZZFEST 2004 and participate in a nationally televised performance straight from OZZFEST 2004. Think you got what it takes? The audition hotline is 800-688-5251. In person auditions will take place in LA on June 11th and in NYC on June 18th.

LA,is out but for the East coast..time is there.smile

Okay, so let me get this straight...

Ozzfest, which has always been the mecca for nu-metalers is now completely abandoning that genre and replacing it with metalcore?

If this means the death of nu-metal, i'm all for it.

when it started in 96 it was all metal & hardcore

over the years it "losts its way"(Crazy Town, Chevele)

but its back to being the best damn summer tour

What do you mean, you don't like the butterfly boys? LOL. After Rust got kicked out of CxT, they lost all crazyness anyway....r.i.p. my dear crazy boy =(

Irank Slayer 4th out of the four bay area Thrasers, behind Megadeth, Anthrax and Metallica. Just because it is fast doesn't mean it is good.

I'll be going to the West Palm, Fl show. Anyone else?

I bought my tix just to see Lacuna Coil but I am looking forward to seeing Black Label Society, Priest, and if the news I read was correct then the original Black Sabbath lineup. I'm also slowly starting to like Slipknot, though I hate their image.

i think the OZZfest quality has seriously DROPPED as the years have gone on.... whatever

eddited to say, that nowadays... i DEFINITLY dont think its worth the money for the tickets... other than for the novel fact of going and getting hammered at a festival all day... and since i dont drink.... ill pass hehe
