And All That Could Have Been- Nine Inch Nails.

I had it on this mix CD and I totally forgot. When it came on I just burst in to tears. It is a really beautiful song.

Opeth - the entire Damnation album.

I tried to narrow it down to one song, but really, the entire album is one of those things where you just want to sit in the dark alone and cry. The songs are really pretty...and overwhelmingly depressing.

A very large portion of elliot smith's work was the same way.

some are obvious choices, but they reduce me to a pile of sap every time.

Cure - from the edge of the deep green sea (live) and disintegration

Mazzy Star - dissappear, flowers in december

Beth Orton - love like laughter, thinking about tomorrow

i mother earth - so gently we go

led zeppelin - ten years gone

peter murphy - cuts you up

when in rome - the promise

the beloved - sweet harmony

I could go on and on... frown

lover you should have come over - jeff buckly

"it's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
it's never over, all my riches for her smiles when i slept so soft against her
it's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
it's never over, she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever"
