We would be less of a species without this man. A true pioneer.

I read the news today while at work. It's quite depressing. Recorded music as we know it simply wouldn't exist if not for him.

Yeah. I didn't realize he'd created the first 8-track, as well as the electric guitar.

I was unaware of his innovations as well. Pivotal, really.

So sorry to hear this. Even for a non-player like me, he is known and respected.

My first electric guitar was a Les Paul copy. What sad news.

Yeah, most people know him for the solid body guitar that bears his name; but as important as that is to rock and roll, the really important things, like mutli-track recording, are so ubiquitous you don't even realize someone invented them.

He has a guitar named after him?
