Pitchfork gave it like a 2.7 rating. I don't agree with them that often but in this case it is hard to argue. Feels like a complete lack of ideas and inspiration.
I just saw them on their first date of their tour... and the show was awesome! I have seen The Distillers live, but this was completely different. The sound was awesome and the band was tight.
Obviously Spinnerette is going to be different than The Distillers. They're two COMPLETELY different bands. (Yes I know Tony was in The Distillers, but that's not what I mean)
If you have the chance to see them live, fucking do it.
I was a Distillers fan but I'm totally digging the new sound. It goes beyond the simple punk elements that the Distillers chose to use and adds other instruments and various effects. I can understand that it's probably not for everyone, but I really enjoy it. Songs like Valium Knights and Ghetto Love have really good hooks as well.
