Saw this in the new Washington City Paper and thought it was pretty great...

Scott Stuckey, a DC-area guy who works in video and sound editing, decided to create a kid's show called Pancake Mountain. Right now, it's online at http://www.pancakemountain.com (sorry, the URL function isn't cooperating right now) but he's hoping to find a TV outlet soon.

So far, creative contributions include:

A theme song by Brendan Canty (Fugazi) and Kathi Wilcox (Bikini Kill, The Frumpies).

A cover of "I've Been Working on the Railroad" by Vic Chesnutt.

A song about the alphabet, called "Vowel Movement," by Ian Mackaye.

A skit where "Captain Perfect," played by comic Erik Myers, is told by corporate suits that the show cannot be made. The suits are played by Neal Augenstein, a local radio man, and Bob Mould. You can clearly see Bob in the pictures under "the Cast" on the website (middle row, right side).

There's an 11-minute clip of the show on the site, but it's for broadband users (it stalled horribly for me). I hope this thing sees a TV contract soon. Saturday mornings have sucked since Pee Wee was busted...

You will probably be able to see this article on the Washington City Paper soon http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com (under the Arts section) but they still have last week's up tonight...

This is pretty awesome! It was weird seeing Neil Augenstein in person.
