Kiss Me x3 and prior for me.

I'll second that. As for rankings, it's

1. Pornography
2. The Top
3. 17 Seconds

for me.

1. old cure.
2. "friday i'm in love" is an absolutely amazing pop song. if it were by anyone other than the cure, everyone griping about it would love it.
3, "cut here" is the last great song they've had.
4. "just like heaven" is probably the most perfect song ever.
5. "disintegration" is the second best album ever.
6. "loveless" by my bloody valentine is the best album ever.

Hah! Last week you were talking about My Favorite things being the most perfect song ever. I still maintain that it's Hope Sandoval's cover of Drop.

As far as the Cure goes, I actually like plain song the best. Disintegration is a brilliant album. Robert Smith rocked it in his sweats and white sneakers.

I like both ends of the spectrum. Boys Don't Cry is my favorite album by them. Then again, Bloodflowers (which is their latest offering if Im not mistaken) is a very strong album in my opinion.

Im gonna agree with Minty here, too.. Disintegration is absolutely brilliant. Lovesong. robot

ok, Just Like Heaven is the most perfect original ever. John Coltrane's "My favorite things" is the most perfect cover ever. i do like "drop" but i don't know if it would make my top 20.

i think "untitled" is the most underrated song on disintegration. and i might be the only person in the world who doesn't really like "lullaby" eeek

What do you think about the single Robert just did on the last Blink 182?

It's great, and very 'Cut Here' sounding, which is encouraging for any new material coming our way. Going in the direction of 'Just Say Yes' fills me with horror. In fact, most of the new Blink 182 album is good which is personally quite unsettling. And a whole bunch of it sounds like The Cure, not just the song with Mr Smith on.

How did you pick Wish as the cut-off? I'd say Kiss Me is their last great album.

I was bummed when I saw her play this because I've been covering it for years and her's is near perfect.

This is an amusing thread. Good to see the band still causes passion in people.

I picked "Wish" because that album had represented when the Cure was more main stream and less new wave punky alt music type.

I think it's pretty clear across the board. Sometimes it's not a fair fight with those of us who grew up with The Cure. The early stuff is always what we base a band on. In the case of Robert and the boys.. it is sad, but true.. the chemistry is not what it used to be. They could never release anything that grabs us like anything Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me did and anything that predates it.

Depends on my mood, but it's all good at the right time.

I saw them on the Bloodflowers tour and was terribly dissapointed because they didn't play enough of the older stuff and it is my least favorite album.
