NOFX at an outdoor venue in Phoenix. Hot as shit and dusty. By the end of the night it looked like a bunch of 16 year-old punk rock mud people. Disgusting.

The sweatiest show I have ever been to was in 1998. NOFX, No Use for a Name, Teen Idols, at The Milk Bar in Jacksonville Fl. The Milk Bar was a underground parking garage with no ventilation and a PA. It was so hot and overcrowded that the roof was sweating. It was so humid inside, that you couldn't light a friggin cigarette. Great show though.

It would have to be Ministry at the Aragon Ball Room in '95. Eventhough Slayer / Fear Factory a year later at the Riv was close.

Opps, no wait, I take that back. Sevendust and Coal Chamber in this tiny bar that was only supposed to hold 40 people. It pored right before the show and the garage area they were going to play in flooded. So they set up in a little bar and played an amazing show. Hot, humid, and way overcrowded, but still one of the best shows I've been to. I feel sorry for the bar owners though, people were body surfing and kicking down the tiles in the ceiling.

I remember Aaron Cometbus wrote in his zine about how Crimpshrine had a sweating contest at one of their shows... wearing winter clothes on a hot summer day. Even though I wasn't there it gets my vote for the sweatiest show.

Probably Sick Of it All and Strife in'94 at the Kitchen Club in Miami

The place was packed to the brim with hardcore kids and about 8 fights broke out
At one point I had to jump up on stage and stand next to Pete from SOIA 'cause a virtual stampede broke out. I ended up walking out of the show in my boxers I was so drenched

Honorable mention:
GWAR w/ Mephiskapheles in '97 at Axis in Boston (covered from head to toe in fake blood)

Jane's Addiction: London Subterrania & London Marquee, both some time in 1990. everyone looked like they'd showered with their clothes on. actually, that was probably the closest some of the audience had come to having a shower in years, by the looks of them.

other than that, The Beyond & Therapy? in the Rockhouse, Derby, '91. fucking boss gig too. still top mates with people from both bands these days.

I'll be catching that fest in MA and NJ. A great time will be had, especially during With Honor.

I was also at a really, really sweaty Mudhoney show at Hairy Mary's in Des Moines in 1992. So much steam was rising from the building that a neighbor called the fire department. Around the same time I saw Pearl Jam at the Ranch Bowl (seriously a bowling alley) in Omaha. The show had been booked before 'Ten' blew up and they didn't bother to change the venue and, Jesus Christ, was it fucking hot in there. I'm pretty sure that was the only time I've ever publicly taken my shirt off somewhere that didn't involve sand and water.

i was gonna say Rollins Band '91, but i think Fishbone at the Forum in Kentish Town-London in '94 was the craziest. there were never less than 20 people on stage at one time that should'nt have been there.
some guy ripped a fire extinguisher of the wall and started spraying the band
Chris Dowd the keyboard player freaked and dived into the crowd to beat up the culprit whilst the rest of the band laughed plus also naked diving lead singers

Most of the concerts I go to inevitably involve sweat, as I somehow always manage to be right next to the 6', shirtless, long-haired sweaty bloke in the mosh pit. I swear, it's almost a tradition now.

That being said, the sweatiest of them all goes to Queens of the Stone Age. Fookin' hardcore in there. But worth it!
