Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 2 is a work of pure genius, Squarepusher is good too, but he tends to be a bit self indulgent live.

the richard d. james album is one of the best experimental electronica albums ever. check out MANUAL. this artist is great. very beautiful and melodic soundscapes with superb crackling, popping and glitchy beats. 'until tomorrow' is the album to listen to. its also one of my favorites. i love this kind of music. add n to x is awesome live.

No. I hate all music which could be considered good. I prefer such crap as Bitch & Animal, Dar Williams, and the Gin Blossoms.

anyone who likes this music should check out a GREAT compilation called 'blue skied an' clear'. its electronica groups covering slowdive songs and it's superb. groups like isan, manual, lali puna, and mum to name a few. there's 2 discs and its about $15.00. i highly recomend...

I like more good music than you could ever dream of, bub.

*gets off high horse*

Squarepusher & Aphex Twin are great.

U-ziq is outta this world. "Bilious Paths" is one of my favorite releases of the year. When I listened to it at the station for the first time.. I had a dopey post-coital grin on my face a mile wide.. and I testified to one of my promoters that the album was indeed orgasmic. It rocked my cranium something fierce.

Alright! I gotta check this shizz out then. If you guys say so. My old roomie used to play add n to (x) all the time and I really liked it but never got mine own after he moved out. Aphex has been on my list for awhile too. I'm getting giddy about checking out those other guys. thanx

I'll agree with that absolutely.

and "good" is a relative term. everyone considers what they listen to "good."

You would probably like Hrvatski and []pushers's little brother, Ceephax Acid Crew.

So I gots me a shit-load of arovane, squarepusher, venetian snares, line 47, mindless self indulgence, and so on. I have heard all this! This is the stuff that guy from Off The Record plays on Tues nights for 'Friends Chill" at The Whistle Stop! None of you know what what I'm taking about, but I hit this up every week just because it's a smooth way to groove into the week. I just never paid attention to names. I don't know exactly why it's called IDM, I couldn't dance to any of this [edit] , but oh yeah... It's good!

Aphex is my hero, but his best stuff is definitely on Selected Works I (85-92). You can't mess with 'Aegispolis.'

If you want to talk electronic, though, even Aphex isn't as much of a hero as Carl Craig. The man has simply taken synth music in so many directions it makes me dizzy. He's just the best, and he never had to drop a pill to do it.

I talked to my DJ buddy and he calls this stuff glitch-hop. I think I like that name better.
