The year is almost over and it has brought us one of the better music years in recent memory. What was your favorite record(s) of the year? Mine would be Paint it Black's "CVA"

I concur, a strong year for music, so much so that a top ten is going to be tough to finalize, much less a single best disc. But if I have to decide today, it would be Outkast.

Outkast 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'
My Morning Jacket 'It Still Moves'
Daniel Lanois 'Shine'
Lightning Bolt 'Wonderful Rainbow'
Aaron Neville 'Nature Boy'
The White Stripes 'Elephant'
The Fiery Furnaces 'Gallowsbird Bark'
The Pernice Brothers 'Yours, Mine, & Ours'
Beyoncé 'Dangerously In Love'
Warren Zevon 'The Wind'
The Fire Theft 'The Fire Theft'
The Neptunes 'Present Clones'
Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks 'Pig Lib'
Robert Wyatt 'Cuckooland'
Erykah Badu 'Worldwide Underground'
Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Fever To Tell'
The Rapture 'Echoes'
Fountains Of Wayne 'Welcome Interstate Managers'
Kraftwerk 'Tour De France Soundtracks'
The Thrills 'So Much For The City'
The Strokes 'Room On Fire'
Ryan Adams 'Rock 'N Roll'

OutKast definately does what they always do. They have mastered the art of reinvention but manage to keep getting better. Yum! they do it for me real good for 2003.

I really enjoyed:
black eyes - s/t
a.r.e. weapons - s/t
radiohead - hail to the theif
postal service - give it up

and these aren't really albums but they are my favorite CD's of 2003:
Rough Trade Post-Punk vol.1
Futureheads - 1,2,3, nul E.P.

This doesn't really count because its a reissue but it was released in the US this year:
Young Marble Giants - colossal youth
