When I first saw the video for "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)", I originally dismissed Jason Mraz, thinking it was an OK song but being particularly annoyed at his dorkiness, wearing his baseball cap turned to the side in the way that's popular now. Then I saw the video for "You and I Both", and I must say I love this song more than any other I've heard from a new artist in a very long time. What do others think of this guy?

I've heard him over a year or so time period and I think he's a complete douchebag. It's like Hootie and the Blowfish comedy/pop/folk/wanna be rock.

sorry if i offend

Not a huge fan, but I don't mind him that much.

Yer not alone. I like him too...just the fact that he can match pitch is reason for a thumbs-up in my book. Never seen the videos tho.

He sells himself on dork-appeal, unquestionably, but in the end, music is music, and videos mean nothing if the music isn't any good- at least in MY book. And I just can't get that song "You and I Both" out of my head- which doesn't always mean I really love it that much- but I do in this case.

i'm pretty sure he is like 19, and i saw him on "i love the 70s" and he was all like "yeah i remember such and such" and i was like "what the hell?!? i'm older than this kid and i was born in 83! how could he remember said 70s crap if he wasn't born til 84 or so?!?"

anyway, as much as i've heard, he seems like a baby john mayer. i hate john mayer. but i have yet to pass judgement cuz i have yet to really hear him. so in other words, my post is useless. ha!

I don't like his music or his choice of hats. What hat is he going to wear in his next video, a ten gallon Cowboy hat? I know hats have nothing to do with music, but so what. Down with trucker caps being hip!

I never saw his videos, but I did review his CD for the local college station when it first came out. I thought it was shite.

OUCH! Change the god-damned channel! What the hell is this crap? Did John Mayer and Eminem have a baby and raise the poor kid on Hootie and Dave Matthews?

I saw Jason Mraz in concert this year.. I hadn't heard of him previously, as I went with some friends who knew of him. I didn't dislike the music itself, but I'm fairly open minded about music, so I may not be the best source for an opinion. Oddly enough, since one of the people I was with was actually working for his record label as a PR rep, I got to hang out after the show at the bar and, incidentally, shoot darts with Jason Mraz. If you don't like his music, at least take heart in the fact that he's a genuinely decent, friendly kinda guy.

He's my best friend's current obsession. He's ok, nuthin special. Nice that his album's kinda diverse and all, but I'll stick to my Dave Matthews album, thanks

I did the same thing, only because of his effing ridiculous "Mrazda" in one of his videos. But then Calypso made me take a second look. wink
