I think a healthy quantity of CDs wouldn't be in my collection if I dismissed bands on the basis of name alone.

It's an awful name, in a way that's not at all uncorrelated to why I think they suck as a band.

If I liked their music, I'd get past the name, but it's hard to imagine a band with a name so bad then suddenly finding the good taste to make good music.

i'm reasonably certain that the main reason most people listen to music is so they have something insult other people over. they don't actually enjoy the music, the enjoy the fact that other people don't like it and/or like something else.
