I LOVE BLONDE REDHEAD! I hadn't even heard of them until I saw them mentioned so many times in all the profiles here. Thank you SG!!! I just got a shit load of their stuff last week and I'm quivering. I was hanging with my uber-indie friend the other day and I played their stuff and he saw them play the Che Cafe down here at UCSD. That would have been a cool spot to see them. It's such a tiny little pit. Oh well, there's always next time.

They were just at the Scene in San Diego.. but alas I missed them. Heard it was a shakey show... first one of their tour.
The Che is cool... I like when we've played there. Good food too.

In Expression of the Inexpressible was one of my favorite records for a long time. Ah. The late 90's. What a great period for indie rock. I haven't heard much of their more recent stuff, but I remember not liking Melody... as much.

I remember when they did that FF/RHCP opening slot. What the hell was that promoter thinking- it was completely inappropriate for the venues & crowds. It's like having Merzbow open for the Beach Boys.

Er, actually, that kinda sounds like a good thing.

If they sucked, they sucked but I think it might have something to do with them playing for a crowd of people who basically came to see the two following bands, not saying those bands suck at all.

So yeah I love Blonde Redhead. Never seen them live. I'm starting to wonder if they'll ever play a show in Atlanta!? Btw, does anyone have a web address on them? I've searched and found nothing but discontinued updates and dead ends.

Inexpressible is irresponsible in its total encapsulation of what should be... Damn. I heard their last show here in SanDiego Was shakey.... so they ain't all that good live? I don't know... but I do know that these songs are kicking ass.

Check out Goodbye, Blue Monday at Loud and Clear Recordswww.loudandclearrecords.com I think if you appreciate one you'll like the other.

Christ, I'm so addicted to BR right now. Wasn't really a an active record-owning fan before I saw them open for Interpol since all I'd heard up to that point was their super noisy-not-quite-Sonic-Youth stuff, but shortly afterwards I got Misery is a Butterfly which I absolutely fucking love and recently picked up Melody of Certain Deranged Lemons (again, awesome) and In An Expression of the Inexpressible. I can see why some people are really irritated by them (kitschy can't stand them) but man... so digging them right now.

Supposedly they're in the studio right now and will be releasing their next album early in 2007. Can't wait.

I saw them like 8 years ago and it was a pretty good show. I like em well enough to download some but I doubt I'd buy a CD... I'm more a fan of the band whose song they took their name from wink

Saw them a few years ago on a warm summernight at a small open-air in Urbino, Italy. The site was at the highest point of this ancient town (more like a giant castle, really). It was magic.

That sounds like the perfect venue to see them.

The problem with Blonde Redhead is that you just randomly see them without knowing any of their songs or what they're about... chances are you're going to loathe them. If you're waiting to hear your favorite band, rotten vegetables are likely to come into play.

Hell, I saw people spit on The Melvins before - that's what you get when you open for GWAR.
