This is cool...I started my day today watching King Crimson on DVD.....I got into Belew when he was with Zappa....When he became a part of the new King Crimson,I was blown away by Discipline....Nice to see other people into him!

Yeah, very cool. I initially knew about Belew from his work with Talking Heads and David Bowie, and then a friend brought Discipline to school one day and I was immediately hooked. "Thela Hun Ginjeet" still knocks me for six every time I hear it. A little later I found about his work on Zappa's Sheik Yerbouti, which is fucking awesome as well.

Belew is one of those rare touchstones... if someone's hip to Adrian then you know they're hip to tons of other cool shit.

Speaking of Thela Hun Ginjeet:

It's a trip watching how Adrian gets all those crazy sounds. I'd like to know exactly what he's doing with what I assume is a Roland JC-120 amp there towards the end.

(Also, a side note with this video: Tony Levin is such a badass!)

He's actually touring right now with a brother & sister on drums & bass.....It's billed as the Adrian Belew Power Trio.....Looks interesting, but very stripped down!

His work with King Crimson was awesome. His more recent work like "side one" and "side two" I could take or leave although I love the sons "Ampresand" and "Writing on the Wall" from "side one"...Danny Carey on drums and Les Claypool on bass backing him....how could it not e awesome

The dream for me would be the Lark Tongue line up reuniting again . Now THERE is a impossible dream .

Oh god I know. Don't get me wrong Adrian Belew's done a lot of great work, but I like him a lot better as a guitarist than a vocalist. I can't listen to Red and Lark's Tongue in public due to embarrasing spontaneous ejaculation. They're just too good.

For anyone who likes Adrian Belew, don't go to his website and watch his little autobio video. I did and now I just kinda want to punch him. I though I had a huge ego, but he showed me what it is to think you're great.

I still can't deny that he's good, though.
