After reading the "popular song you hate the most!" thread, I realized - I haven;t heard alot of new music in a while (I'm getting old, damn it!).

So I was wondering if anyone could throw out some suggestions on good new music. And what new talent has impressed you the most, recently.

Fave new band at the moment is The Changes...great intelligent pop-rock, kind of early-"40AD Records"- type indie rock.

Dan Boekner from Wolf Parade because his side project Handsome Furs is amazing. Also another Wolf has Sunset Rubdown, which is also great. So I say follow the Wolves.

Maybe not as new but ...Beirut....(although I haven't heard the very latest).

I have not discovered any new rock bands in awhile, but I just picked up the latest album from a NYC-based retro funk/soul outfit called the el michels affair. I had heard about them before, but never listened to any of their music. I was very impressed, and I would recommend it to anyone that might be into that sort of thing.
