My musical taste is (famously) all over the map. But, one of my favorite bands from the 80's was the French avant-pop combo Les Rita Mitsouko. I heard about them because they were produced by Bowie's best, Tony Visconti. And, the singer, Catherine Ringer, was a very cute, very deviant porn star.
The other half of the band, Fred Chichin passed away suddenly in 2007, so I thought I'd hail him here. Do your ridiculous self a huge favor and check this video out...
I've seen them in concert twice, both last year. First in Brussels in June which was one of the best concerts I've seen all year. Great performance, fantastic vibe and amazing crowd response. The second time was in October in Ghent. That time, Fred Chichin was not on stage with the band - later in the year, it would become clear why...
