Ok, i did a search and nothing like this came up so i think it's safe to start this thread.

Tell me the popular song (or songs) you hate the most ! Mine is an old one: "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. I remember it from the time when that "Bodyguard" movie was a great success here and you heard the song everywhere. There are many popular songs that i don't like but for some reason the memory of this song still fills me with hate even until today. Seems i got really traumatized back then eeek

Back when that song came out I would have agreed with you & added anything by Mariah Carey . Now a days I'll say anything by Fergie .

That "Hey There Delilah" song. I guess after Green Day did "Good Riddance" bands realized they could get away with bullshitting three chords on an acoustic and make a 5 minute mope-fest.

Right now I'd say "No one" by Alicia Keys. Usually I love her stuff but on that song she's singing like a pig that is beeing killed.

Considering I've hated 95% of pop radio in the past 10 years, it's impossible to pick just one.

Anything and everything by Mariah Carey. That shitfest "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. Anything by Brandy or Fergie. Half of the stuff my ex-fiancee used to listen to. Most "popular" country shit. Actually, most popular music I can't stand. Even if it's a good song, like "Seven Nation Army", the radio over plays them to the point where you want to scream.

Not sure what's meant by "popular song" here, but...

'Bohemian Rhapsody'
'Stairway To Heaven'
'If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body'

And, anything at all by Bryan Adams, Whitesnake +/or David Coverdale, and Simply Red.

anything by Foo Fighters, i'm sure that'll piss a few off here, but personally it scrapes my brain with a commercial blade

you could also start a thread about songs or bands you used to like, but can't bear to hear anymore do to radio force feeding it to you over n over again

I fucking hate "Hey There, Delilah" or whatever it's called. It's on the radio all the time and I can't stand it, and anytime it comes on I feel like my head will explode.

I'll jump on the Delilah bandwagon as well.

As long as we're talking about creepy, stalker songs....do any of you remember that song "Mrs. Steven Rudy" by Mark Mcguinn?

I get up on Sunday, 'bout 8:15.
Just to get the paper that I never read.
Cuz I know, she'll be there early in a row.
Sittin' on the front porch, paintin on her toes.
Her husband's always on the road.

And Mrs. Steven Rudy, you dont know what you do to me.
Every night, i dream one day of being with you.
And Mrs. Steven Rudy on a neighborhood of beauty,
that wedding ring's as ugly as your husband is to you.
Hey!

Sometimes Mrs. Rudy calls cryin late at night,
Cuz her and Mr. Ugly had another fight.
We talk a while. I hear her smile,
When she says thank you.
I tell her that she's welcome, like any friend would do.
I only wish she knew.

And Mrs. Steven Rudy, you dont know what you do to me.
Every night, I dream one day of being with you.
And Mrs. Steven Rudy, in the neighborhood of beauty
that wedding ring's as ugly as your husband is to you.

Imagination, Infactuation, I'm what she deserves.
I wonder if she, thinks about me, the way I think about her.

And Mrs. Steven Rudy, you dont know what you do to me.
Every night, I dream one day of being with you.
And Mrs. Steven Rudy in the neighborhood of beauty,
that wedding ring's as ugly as your husband is to you.

And Mrs. Steven Rudy, you dont know what you do to me.
Every night, I dream one day of being with you.
And Mrs. Steven Rudy in the neighborhood of beauty,
that wedding ring's as ugly as your husband is to you.
Hey!

Uhhhh Mrs. Rudy. That wedding ring's as ugly to me..
as your husband is to you.
Mrs. Rudy! You dont know, ya dont know
What ya do to me.

I know how this is going to make me sound...but frankly...I hate most popular songs.

That's not to say I don't enjoy a good single, or mainstream pop nonsense. But frankly...as the past few years have gone on, I find myself more and more annoyed by what other people seem to be listening to.

I can barely tell one mainstream rap song from another these days, and the same can be said for every pop-punk-rock band (Plain White T's? The name alone tells me everything I need to know about that shit)...Never mind all of the Ying Yang Twins and Fergies and Rhiannas and Nickelbacks and FInger Elevens and every Country artist plying their crap through the airwaves, these days...

That being said - anything I've heard by "Maroon Five" makes me want to hire Cave Trolls to bash my ears with their giant clubs. What's really sad is I used to really like that band, when they went by Kara's Flowers and did their own interesting, Merseybeat-inspired stuff.
