"Somewhere In The Between" by Streetlight Manifesto

I've been waiting for this album for like 4 years and it completely blew away all my expectations. The sound is so epic. I can't really even choose a favorite track, they all work so well. A lot of ska music is just about having fun and goofing around, which is cool, but this stuff is serious.

If I had to nominate someone, I'd go with

I can't even remember everything that came out this year, but this was almost certainly the best...



This was probably not far behind... The new albums from Gallhammer and Venetian Snares were slightly disappointing though...

Year Zero is definitely up there. Neon Bible too.

Machine Head - The Blackening

I have the same situation as Lizzi so I'll just go with the most recent that I liked:

Same here. I know I've bought In Rainbows but I know that it wouldn't crack my top ten if I was keeping up on releases this year.

Ha ! I have the same problem . I was going to say Mogwai with Mr. Beast , but that was 2006 . I guess I'll go with either Behemoth - The Apostasy or Dimmu Borgir - In Sorte Diaboli . Not the best year for releases by bands I really like .

I'm too conflicted to pick one favorite album from 2007, but there's definitely a easy number 1 EP:

There was no one album that completely blew me away in its entirety this year. So I'm going to cheat and say the best album of the year would be a mix cd comprised of the best parts of the following releases:
