I've gotta go with the old school here.

Any of the Super Nintendo Castlevania series, and the first Super Mario Bros. rock my socks.

I still remember playing Actraiser for SNES and having my mom walk by, asking what movie I was watching. The music wasn't great, but the quality was awesome.

Overall tho, I'd have to go with something silly like Legend of Zelda, just because after playing for hours on end, I'd find myself humming it all day. Tho Castelvania is pretty good too.

I don't know too many newer games that well, but Warcraft 3 has awesome music.

American McGee's Alice has by far the best soundtrack, second would be Castlevania: Symphony of the night.

If you actually like this shit then try this place.

Rygar was pretty rad. So was Contra.

If you don't know about them, you should check out this band called The Minibosses.

They cover old video game songs, and they do it incredibly well.

I'm gonna have to go with Silent Hill 2. That game some of the spookiest music, but some great guitar rock too.

There's a game for SNES, a shooter called Space Megaforce, which not many remember, but had a kickass techno soundtrack.

That space game that had the walking bass line. Moon Patrol? I think that's what it was called.
