And you were mentioning those bands as bands that "most people can name these days"

I never even said that if you'd care to look back...if you're going to quote me at least quote me correctly as it destroys all further points that you try to make.

Move along folks, there's nothing to see here...

Just like I said, what you quoted me as saying is not what I said at all.

I'm going to turn this hose in a minute and you'd better be running... tongue

You crazy British kids.

I have liked SFA since my mother(!) brought me back Fuzzy Logic from a trip to the UK.

I have seen them play live here in Australia.

I wouldn't begin to think about comparing them to Radiohead in any way shape or form.

And I can't name all of those other Welsh bands, I don't think I know of many other Welsh bands except Led Zeppelin and Incubus.

My mother also brought back a Manic Street Preachers CD from that same trip. Coincidence? I think not.

(Well, I do actually, but it doesn't sound so impressive.)

Why should all these bands be lumped together for the simple reason they are from wales? There would be a huge outcry if bands were pigeon-holed for any other general reason.

When talking about any band from outwith the US and England, the first thing mentioned is where they are from. What a load of shite. Being from scotland, I actualy resent bands for being from scotland, because they are immediately lumped together. All this because they are from the same part of the world. Hey if you like Travis you must immediately like idlewild, mogwai, arab strap, primal scream, texas, darius, clannad, jimmy fucking young, etc. Why not? they're all scottish.

The only criteria that should be taken into account when judging a band is.....(drum roll please).....are they any good. Yes its that simple.

No-one said that about regional bands and it's patently untrue to anyone with ears.

I mentioned the Welsh bands that I did to make a point about the Welsh music scene as some people like nothing better than to slag off Wales at any opportunity that presents itself...but I'm sure I've said that already...

I'm well impressed by some early Idlewild tracks that I've heard though...completely different from the mediocre stuff that they currently output anyway.
