I'm kind of a concert junkie. I've seen 300+ shows over the years and from what I've read so far, a lot of you here are the same way. I'm just wondering who everyone's first concert experience was.

First one I saw was Van Halen in Cleveland 1995. They had Our Lady Peace (possibly their first US tour) and Skid Row opening for them. It still stands as one of the best concert experiences I've ever had.

Fuel and Aerosmith with my friends parents. First standalone concert was...

Shit, I think Circle Jerks, and Dwane Peters. If it's not it was Holiday Havoc with Skinhead Rob, Finch, The Distillers, Buzzcocks, Pennywise, and Offspring. (I left after buzzcocks.)

we didn't get that many "big" arena-sized tours that were in the rock/metal/alt variety in my home town during the period of time i was aware/interested, lots of great small underground/indie/punk stuff though.... (in my head i make a differentiation between concerts and "shows", kinda depending on the size of the crowd, venue, etc)

my first was Bullet Boys, Winger, and Cinderella (during their Long Cold Winter tour).

the one i kick myself for passing on was the Cult and Metallica (during their Justice tour).

I got taken to Cropreddy a few times when I was young, and my dad reckons he took me to see the Damned in a pub in Ipswich when I was a baby surreal but the first gig for me proper was Manic Street Preachers supported by Catatonia smile

Tori Amos at the Adler Theater in Davenport, Iowa. Josh Clayton-Felt was the opening act. I'd been to shows *before* - but it was like county fair stuff. That was the first real deal: and my first concert sort of on my own. I went with a couple of girls; we were 16 and I ended up marrying one of them. The other chick was fucking annoying and kept talking through the whole show - which was quite good.

My first show was one and the same except I saw it in Camden NJ. I won 11th row center tickets in a contest and took my pop( i was 14 ). One of the best shows I've seen.

I think I was like 13 for my first real concert. My cousin came to pick me up cuz he had heard I liked Rancid. They were playing in Sacramento at an indoor skate park called The Grind. We got there like 5 minutes before the show and they were sold out.

He snuck us both in through a side door. It was so badass.
