My new favorite band:

It's like if they took those "A String Quartet Tribute to..." albums and made them awesome.

Section is actually responsible for most of those "A String Quartet Tribue to..." albums. check them out on itunes, they've put out about a billion albums.

i like them, but they're extremely hit and miss -- mainly because they just to straight covers without any real interpretive changes. a lot of their versions of songs sound almost clinical due to how close they are to the original material.

???? iTunes says no such thing. There are four entries for the Section Quartet.

And, picking three random String Quartet Tributes to... from AllMusic (Moby, AC/DC, 311), none of the members of the section Quartet appear in the credits.

I think yr mistaken.

I went to a benefit show in LA a few months ago ('Beat It Wally'.....with Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Garbage, Jackson Browne, Pixies, George Clinton, etc.....) and The Section Quartet were so fucking incredible to watch. I fell immediately in love.
definately a huge fan.
