I am personally dissapointed by this record. First of all it was touted as return to rock, (it isnt) second of all it, for the most part, feels like half baked b-sides from the last two sessions. There are hardly any memorable songs from this album. And dont think im some jerk that was hoping this would be a return to rock because i didnt like the last two records, well i really like the last two, especially Amnesiac. Hail to the Theif just bores me, its more of the same, but without the originality or passion. And worst of all, it starts off with such a bang of 2+2=5, what a great song, then from there it just cascades into mediocrity. Shame.

i like it. its not radiohead's best, but i'm glad they didnt just revert back to the bends like everyone claimed they would with this album. that would have been boring.

I lke it, but i do actually like Amnesiac & Kid A better.. i agree, '2+2=5' is such a great song, and then it all goes downhill.. most of the album sounds like incomplete b-sides to me as well. Only a handful of the songs really 'moved' me, like 'there there', 'sit down. stand up' (especially the ending), 'myxomatosis', 'punchup at a wedding', maybe a few others. It's a good album, and I'm sure it will grow on me, but i wasn't very impressed

I think I might possibly be the only person alive who hates any and all Radiohead... surreal

I think its their best album so far, especially considering the social and politcal commentary it contains. I guess that some people just don't get it though.

I love this album. Much better than "Amnesiac", if you ask me. I just adore the downtrodden and meloncholy mood it affects. love

that's the one part i agree with. don't get me wrong-- it's a good record. i just wasn't nearly as impressed with it as i thought i'd be. i'll dig it up at a used cd store somewhere, but i wouldn't pay $18 for it. surreal

personally, i think it's great in and of itself
most of their albums are so different from each other, it hardly seems fair to compare them
true, it dosn't seem as inspired as OK computer, but it doesn't really need to be
i generally do my best to avoid any and all hype around upcoming releases, so as to have no expectations
imagine my surprise when a friend said "there's a new radiohead, here it is" (i must have really had my head in a hole)
i didn't even like it that much at first, but one night i left it on and rode it in my dreams, now i'm hooked
to sum up: it may not be as memorable as some of their others, but it's still a good one
(i tend to ramble, sorry)

I think its a mash up of the previous 3 albums. Thats fine in a way because those albums are all amazing but i think I'd prefer a Radiohead record to be more focused or thematic musically. maybe i'm just being picky, it still rocks! love

can we not do this thread for the 8th time.

I think everyone who actually likes radiohead will agree that this is not their most shining moment, but when you compare this record to every other record that came out around the same time, you start to realize that they are working on a different level.

Good not great by Radiohead standards. That means it'll probably be one of the ten best albums released in 2003.

I agree with that, even mediocre radiohead is stellar with most other stuff, im not saying i hate it, it is just my least favorite. im not even complaining that it doesnt sound the other records, but just general universal things like passion and creativity, it just doesnt seem to have has much as the other ones.

HAHA I HATE PEOPLE WHO LIMIT THEMSELVES TO THAT LITTLE BOX...
MUSIC EVOLVES, HUMAN BEING EVOLVES.. RADIOHEAD DOENS'T HAVE TO LIMIT THEMSELVES TO " GARAGE ROCK"... THEY ARE MAIN FACTOR THAT HELPS OUR MUSIC EVOLVE...
IF YOU WANT RADIOHEAD TO DO ONLY 'ROCK" ...JUST LISTEN TO FIRST 2 ALBUMS.. DAH!
