The album 'Strays' is really starting to grow on me.

I saw Janes Addiciton open for Love & Rockets (shamelessly stolen from the comic), and they were amazing, this was pre-fame... so nobody knew who they were... this was their XXX records era.... and they rocked harder than love and rockets.... i'm not a (drum circle hippie) but they had two guys banging on drums for their finale which was I think the last song on the live XXX album... (forget the name, a "friend" stole the cd)... but it rocked... after their next album, which was also good, I sort of lost track until I saw Farell naked at LOL-apoolzers...

Jane's Addiction has always held a special place in my heart. I haven't heard the new album though, I suppose I will have to then.

lyrically, the new album was a let-down.
navarro's guitar playing is tight and crazy, as always,
but the songs just don't do it for me.

the cover and artwork sucked serious ass.
would it have killed them to do something other than a group portrait?

during the last tour i felt a bit cheated;
like they spent all their time and energy on the stage design. the focus was on the gyrating flame-eating dancers rather than their performance. now don't get me wrong, i am a fan of the gyrating flame-eating dancers. but that wasn't all i wanted or expected.

it makes me feel like it's the end of an era.
and it probably is.

on another tangent, i was really excited when navarro's solo project came out.
but um, my mother taught me if you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing at all...
so we will never speak of that again.

I saw Perry Farrel at Whole Foods last week. He was doing some shopping.
