Amy Winehouse is in the hospital for "severe exhaustion".

There was though no comment about allegations in the papers that she had suffered from a drugs overdose.

Yahoo/BBC News video link should work.

But this is the Sun we're talking about. Hardly the greatest upholder of journalistic excellence that the world has ever seen. The National Enquirer is probably a more reliable source wink

That being said the drugs overdose angle is probably right tongue

I like Amy Winehouse. I hope she doesn't end up the female Pete Docherty (tedious, over-rated, chemical dustbin riding off the backs off others) frown

Well, she's got three out of four so far, in my opinion.

Maybe if she'd have stayed in REHAB instead of making some terrible fucking song about dropping out that's just contributing to a generation that already views subtance abuse as a joke...

But being a wasteoid is so cool. I want to be a stick figure with missing teeth making a living off singing behind a ProTools band-in-a-can too.

Will all you nay-sayers be in the Amy Winehouse had died thread commenting on how tragic it is and how much her music meant to you? Personally, I happen to like her music, as does a lot of other people. Obviously she's having a difficult time with whatever it is she's going through. A little respect would be nice.

I'll respect her if she gets her act together smile
To be honest I can't stand her or her music.
And I would have ALOT of sympathy for her if she tried to sort herself out.

Maybe people would have more respect for her if what she was having a problem with wasn't entirely her own fault.

I'm not required to have respect for a random celebrity. It's not as if she's going to see this and have a massive psychological meltdown because people are making fun of her on the internet.

I doubt any of the people making fun of her would be in here saying "I lurved her and her music" if she died today, by the way. My opinion of her music isn't magically going to change if she kicks the bucket.

seriously. this woman glorifies and romanticizes substance abuse to a level that i find personally vomit inducing. i've had issues with substance abuse for many years and understand the difficulities that accompany it. but at some point you need to take responsibility for what you're doing and the impact it's having on the world around you.

I

1. like her
2. like her music
3. consider her a talented artist and understand that getting high and her relationship to getting high and its limits are the fuel and the focus of her art, at least now.
4. wish her luck

I love her music, and I hope she makes a serious effort to get clean. I wish her nothing but the best.

Would you say it was entirely her own fault if, let's say, she cleans herself up writes a book about how she was having difficulty dealing with, I dunno, being molested by her father as a child? Is that her fault? Some people have a hard time coping with shit like that.

Cry me a river. She's not in the hospital because she got molested.
