I like Amy Winehouse. I hope she doesn't end up the female Pete Docherty (tedious, over-rated, chemical dustbin riding off the backs off others)

Maybe if she'd have stayed in REHAB instead of making some terrible fucking song about dropping out that's just contributing to a generation that already views subtance abuse as a joke...

Will all you nay-sayers be in the Amy Winehouse had died thread commenting on how tragic it is and how much her music meant to you? Personally, I happen to like her music, as does a lot of other people. Obviously she's having a difficult time with whatever it is she's going through. A little respect would be nice.

To be honest I can't stand her or her music.
And I would have ALOT of sympathy for her if she tried to sort herself out.

Maybe people would have more respect for her if what she was having a problem with wasn't entirely her own fault.

I love her music, and I hope she makes a serious effort to get clean. I wish her nothing but the best.

Would you say it was entirely her own fault if, let's say, she cleans herself up writes a book about how she was having difficulty dealing with, I dunno, being molested by her father as a child? Is that her fault? Some people have a hard time coping with shit like that.
