Insane Clown Posse Named Worst Rock Band

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Insane Clown Posse, the Detroit rap duo beloved by teenage boys for their creepy face make-up and X-rated lyrics, have been named the worst band ever by Blender magazine.

The music publication's September issue said Insane Clown Posse "sound even stupider than they look," and derided them for rapping about "40-ouncers and venereal disease."

Officials at the band's Psychopathic Records label were less than enthusiastic about the rating.

"They've brought themselves up from nothing to become an international musical phenomena (sic), and yet, somehow, they still get no respect from fine mainstream publications such as Blender Magazine," they said in a Web posting (http://www.insaneclownposse.com).

They noted that the Insane Clown Posse album dubbed the worst by Blender, "The Wraith: Shangri-La," actually received a three-star review (i.e. very good in its genre) in the publication's January/February issue.

No. 2 on the list was 1970s supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer, followed by once-hirsute balladeer Michael Bolton (news), mellow jazz saxophonist Kenny G. and the Jefferson Airplane pop spinoff Starship.

about a year ago, their manager called my store. they wanted to do this intstore performance type thing where they play in this trailer. i don't know. i think it was the icp mobile douchebag unit, or something. we said fuck no. bad enough the band would be there, but their fans!?! like i don't already have to deal with teenage white trash as it is! no offense to you if you're a fan of this.....stuff.

Everyone hates ICP on this site and thats cool, but I fucking LOVE them! I have so much respenct for the shit they do. I ran a record store in denver for yrs and we were one of the only store that sold thier shit in all of CO and we banked off the juggalos! They are making so much fucking money and its all thanks to ppl who hate them. None of yall like them, but yet yall start a thread about them and magazines and tv shows that hate them still talk about them. So there name gets out and they become more and more well known. Each yr they put on a massive 3 day show and every yr it brings in more kids from across the country...I think this yr it pulled in close to 10,000 ppl!
Anyway, Im not sure what my point was other than to say Im proud to be a juggallo!!!

How are they going ot name ICP worst rock band when first off they arent rock, but second off they arent a band - they dont play music, they are rappers. So sure they are a bad rock bad, but they are fucking great rappers!!!
