You obviously don't remember "Sink To the Bottom", "Radiation Vibe", or "Troubled Times".

i really don't. haha. they weren't on the radio were they? i know they have some indie cred, but from the song stacy's mom, i can't see why, it seems like one of those cheezy LFO songs that came out a few years back.

That be cold.. I think you mean the Strokes.

I would have to agree on the strokes call . I havent seen a more over hyped , under talented , fashion statement that was based on how " cool " they were as opposed to how good they write & play music .

During the atrocious teen-pop craze of 1999, I always thought "You Get What You Give" by New Radicals was a relative breath of fresh air, speaking in strictly pop-single terms. You've gotta admit it's catchy, without being too gimmicky. Only hit this one-man-band ever had, and mastermind Gregg Alexander has been more interested in producing than performing since cutting that album.

That line from the song where he mentions Marilyn Manson and goes "we'll kick your ass in!"

Manson gave Alexander a call on the phone and told him to bring it on. Alexander never called back.

EMO... Yeah, all of it.

I'm pretty sure emo isn't the name of a band. wink

That and I can't really think of any actual emo bands that have hit songs. I'm pretty sure you have to have a hit song to be a one hit wonder.

One hit wonder is a tough one.

I can think of a lot of two, or even three hit wonders.

But one hit is tough.

Keep 'em coming though, this is a good topic.

I hope Junior Senior isn't quickly relegated to that bin for "Move Your Feet" because their mini-album is just great.

Fountains of Wayne are a fucking great band. It's about time they started to maybe get a little recognition. Fuck, I hope they appear on TRL and everyone buys their fucking album just because they deserve it.

Actually a good band though.

they also had "i come from the water" the sad thing is the only reason they didn't have another hit is cause the record label put the release of their second album on hold for like 5-6 years. they were never given another shot.

What about "Main Offender"? I'd say 2 hit wonder...

they have not put out another album. they are working on the next one. so you can't really call them a one hit wonder yet. besides that album was old when that song was released. they could of had the follow up album done already but they had to tour to support the re-release of the album.

No winkie forgotten. I love Fountains of Wayne. Everyone else would, as well, if they had a heart beating in their chest -- if they went out and picked up any of their three records.

You'd get along real well with my ex-gf.

I don't know about recents, but my favorite one hit wonder bash is

JIMMY HENDRIX

that no good fucker didn't even deserve the ONLY hit he ever had. especially since it was a BOB DYLAN cover "on the watchtower"

he should have been shot down for ruining the national anthem

That album was some wierd hybid of the Jackson Five & the B-52's. It's a good argument against importing wierd electronic music from Scandinavia.

Lemme just pull up my mp3 collection to find some other one hit wonders...

Ah, yes.

"The Music" pretty much dropped out of the American market after The Long Road spent only twelve minutes in the top 1000. Remember them? British? Lead singer had a schnoz like a blimp hangar?

"Kenna" did one of the best videos ever, then disappeared. I still see the name occasionally, but it's completely different music, leading me to believe it isn't the same Kenna.

"Lemon Jelly." Nice Weather For Ducks. Another awesome video. And another quirky Scandinavian 'lectro band.

"TATU." 'Nuff said.

"Telepopmusik," though it may be too early to tell. Their album is one of my favorites, at any rate.

See that? Alphabetical order.

Wheatus "Teenage Dirtbag" I kinda liked that song

Chumbawamba - "Tub Thumping" the first million time were amusing......then it started to grate on me

Harvey Danger "Flagpole Sitta" One great song on an otherwise dreadful album.
