This makes me sad, seeing Atreyu open for Korn for Family Values, Im afraid of what Atreyus next album will be like. I love the Theft, its different but I dont want their whole album to be radio friendly cock-rock puke

Slightly off topic, but the line-up for Family Values this year fucking sucks.

I agree Vanessa, infact if any of you are atreyu fans, and havnt heard their new album.... take a listen. I wonder what happened? did the Alex lose his voice? They are still on Victory which is what I dont get. just seems like an odd abrupt change... Family Values, Hot Topic appearances... adds for Target stores... its sad, I want the old Atreyu back : /

I suppose if they make better money at this and are ok with it, then cool.

Here is their myspace with the new album in entirety.

Don't you all have someplace better to be, like in a barn somewhere, being sheared for your wool?

The only thing more annoying than liking a band solely due to its popularity is hating a band for the same reason.

Isn't that the premise of this topic? Atreyu getting too big for their britches?

My complaint about Atreyu is that such a crappy band has such a great name.

My mistake; fully formed opinions are for a different thread. gotcha.

Did it first? surreal

This remark is so untrue it makes taking the rest of your post seriously impossible.

um actually it very true ... darkest hour is def older than atreyu

1996 darkest hour comes out with their first ep
1999 atreyu release their first ep

who did it first?

Korn's guitarist was just on Fox News discussing what Jesus means to him. Take that how you will.

Um. they aren't the only two bands in the genre. It's been around a good ten years longer than Darkest Hour or Atreyu.

And if you think a band's first demo release is the sign of when they started playing and writing music together, I've got news for you.

Would this be Brian Welch, the guitarist who made a much-publicized split with Korn around 2 years ago? The one who's probably on Fux News flogging his new book?

I've seen worse intro bands. I remember seeing a local soft-rock act open for STRAPPING YOUNG LAD when they came to my town. Better believed they got alot of shit.
