Let's call this one a rumor, as “news” of this sort tends to evaporate before it can come true... but if the stars maintain their current cock-eyed alignment, the world may finally see an actual Led Zeppelin reunion. Fans have been teased with rumors for years, but according to Blabbermouth (and an elusive source article by World Entertainment News Network), this could be the announcement Zep-heads have been waiting for.

So the story goes that Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones will reunite for a memorial show in honor of recently deceased Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. Joining on drums will be Jason Bonham, the son of long-dead Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. At least they’re keeping it in the family. Blabbermouth and WENN provided this following quote from an ambiguous “source”:

Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date.

And no one can quite believe it, but during discussions about the concert they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well and they don't all fall out.

It has been hoped for and denied for years. But this is the closest they have ever come to a reunion tour. The feeling is that this is going to happen next year.

Questions of the rumor's authenticity aside, and provided this does come together, I wonder... will the song remain the same? (I had to.)

im sorry its not a reunion without john bonham.
i know his son is a great drummer and would make daddy proud but there was this unique animalistic and depth to the drums that john brought that no one could do again.

would i still pay money to see them..yes
its led zeppelin for christs teeth...of course. i would have to close my eyes and imagine bonzo behind the kit though. smile

it would be good, I'd buy the concert dvd though, cause I don't think I'd wanna shell out the huge bux 4 tix that that show would command, 'speshully to see those geezers well past their prime doing a nostalgia tour.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has wished to see a Zeppelin concert more than any other band ever. This could either be the greatest thing I've ever seen, or a colossal disappointment. There is no middle ground here.

I love Led Zeppelin, but this would suck. Last time Page and Plant did something together Plant's voice was gone and Page's riffs were clumsy.

That was perfectly put. This won't be a show that will illicit, "meh".

Still, I'm down.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Band, sans Bonzo would be a huge difference.

Plus, I think the whole thing would kind of feel like watching Casablanca in color.

I'll believe it when I see it officialy anounced. But the propect of seing Jimmy Page and Robert Plant playing live together again (went to No Quarter tour with my pops) has me all tingly inside. And to the guy who said Page's riffs were clumsy..he always was a sloppy live player wink

+1. Saw them at Glastonbury in the early 90s and really wished I hadn't. Some things are better left well alone.

I was all set to go see them when Bonzo died. I got to see them with Jason Bonham at Live Aid, though, and have seen Page/Plant and other offshoots, but this might be fun. Last I saw Page he wasn't staggering drunk or smacked out-looking and want' tripping over cords and stuff like he used to, and while Percy (Robert Plant) can't hit all the notes like he used to, last I say he was like a fine wine, his voice merely mellowed with age.

I hope it's true.

Having seen LedZep in 1970 (Boston Garden) when they were at the top of their game (I was a mere lad of twelve at the time), I believe I can spare myself the inevitable disappointment of seeing them 37 years later...
