I dont mind Korn. I mean their newer stuff is somewhat weaker, but musicially they are interesting... David Silveria is a pretty decent drummer too.

I get the vibe that people think that all Jon Davis is capable of is writing "nu metal" songs. You don't think there's any precedent at all for a rock/metal musician to branch out? Every person in the music business these days is influenced or inspired by at least half a dozen different genres. Why wouldn't they want to delve into said genres?

Am I a Korn fan? Yes. All the same, I can still openly admit that Untouchables (and much of Take a Look in the Mirror) were abominations. But I'll do for this Opera the same that I did for those albums. Reserve judgment for the final product.

Oh, and posting a ten-year old music video is super relevant. Because not only would a musician hate to branch out, they'd also hate to evolve.

I love KORN. In fact iam sure iam one of there first fans. I seen them when no one knew who they were. I think however that the unplugged stuff they did was way to much "evolvement". I think you should do what your good at and have a passion for and not jump on the fucking band wagon of if everyone else is me fucking to....thank you KORN for joining the bandwagon...that is not passion that is not art its called "following the leader" OUCH! that had to hurt and Iam a fan! Be a leader not a follower dam it!

That sounds horrible. I'm from the same town as Korn. We have streets named after them. STREETS NAMED AFTER THEM.

I won't lie, I'm not a fan of his, but I also did reserve judgment (except for saying that I'm glad he won't be starring in it, but hey, that's just honesty.) And yeah, I had originally posted a newer video, but honestly the song wasn't very good, and at least by posting A.D.I.D.A.S. it made my stupid O.P.E.R.A. joke make more sense. Not trying to hate, just trying to spread the interesting news.

Coming from an opera singer for 17 years, I must say the idea of making a modern and "dark" opera is very cool, as most of the operatic pieces I've ever sung have been classics aside from "rock operas" like Jesus christ Superstar.
And I did like the Queen Of the Damned soundtrack quite a lot.
But I don't know...I just ponder Davis' abilities to actually compose a good opera.
Especially after some of Korn's latest music. wink

Hey, if Billy Joel can compose an opera, why can't J. Davis?
