Unfortunately the authorities are not always so kind when they discover you've got some bud on you. Wu Tang member and part-time television star Method Man is the latest rapper to find himself in a little trouble with the law.



According to reports in The New York Post, Meth was picked up on charges of marijuana possession last Thursday, May 17. Apparently the MC was stopped by police on his way through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel for an expired inspection sticker. Of course when Meth rolled his window down, the officer smelled weed and saw two blunts among "other paraphernalia." Wow, what a surprise.



Because he is an honest sort of fellow, Meth admitted that there were another ounce of weed in the car and needless to say, that was that. Evidently the Wu member was arraigned and released the next day. Now, Meth, about that inspection sticker....

i was going to write something about the ridiculousness of pot being illegal, but thought better of it...it's been beaten to death.

Meanwhile....tens of thousands of cigarette smokers are pulled over every day. PHILIP MORRIS LOBBYISTS ROCK!

This makes me sick. I was arrested for something similiar myself. Wow, we're smoking a plant. A plant that, in the history of man, never hurt anyone. Instead of looking for rapist, theives and murderers, this is what cops are out for. The potheads! If we embraced this plant it would be a better world. Hell, we wouldn't have such high gas prices either. The oil from the plant can be used to make a low grade fuel. Clothes, paper, medicinal purposes...I mean come on, this is the greatest plant on Earth and it's completely demonized. Can someone tell me what this world is coming to?

Has anyone mentioned yet the fact that he was doing it behind the wheel? I would not compare this to drunk driving, but depending on the user and the degree, that can be bad news too. However, something leads me to suspect Method Man has a pretty strong tolerance by now.

Yeah this is often cited as a reason why pot is illegal, and it's the only reason that makes sense.

Call me old fashioned, but driving while stoned is pretty fucking easy.

While I would agree that the MJ should be no more illegal than, say, Budweiser, I would also maintain that driving around baked is about as safe as driving around drunk and both of those are a lot more dangerous than driving around all jacked up on the nicotine. So yeah, bad analogy...
