don't forget "anal cunt" with amazing penis songs like "the internet is gay" and "fuck you, you're old" i still wonder why this band hasn't achieved stardom.

i like shellac.. and bob weston and steve albini have recorded many great bands in their own electric audio studios.. they ought to spend more time on shellac .. i've heard they've had to cut short their tours in europe before, to come back to record other bands.. still they gotta love their work

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are great-- really cool punk pop, and the singer has more crazy stage presence than anyone i've ever seen. And once you've heard her sing you know exactly what she'd sound like during rough sex.

And, although there's not much new on her on the net, KRISTEEN YOUNG is amazing (and is playing at CBGBs tomorrow night)

Shellac are so damn good it hurts. They are playing two shows at the 400 in september, for those in the Minneapolis area. Don't miss it! You will be sorry! mad

As for a band no one has heard, I picked up a compilation of this Japanese band Ruins of their material from 1986 to 1992 that is like a brick in the face, but in a good way. Amazing! Skin Graft records put it out if you are curious. They are currently releasing stuff for John Zorns label.

XTC: they get loads of critical acclaim but nobody buys their albums. sad, because these guys do guitarpop bettter than anyone, and have been at it since before half the sg members were born.

SWEEP THE LEG JOHNNY is, given their dedication and hard work, criminally under-appreciated. Coincidentally, they did a split 7" with A Minor Forest, who also rocked.

Shellac's playing Milwaukee Wednesday, September 4, jsyk.

at first I wasn't into it because I'm used to Wes playing in much heavier bands but after seeing them live I've totally changed my mind!
