First - Thompson Twins in Detroit on the Quicksteps and Sidekicks tour. There were only like 75 people there, but everyone was into it. The band brought everyone up on stage towards the end... at that moment I knew live music was something I had to see as often as I could.
Hmmm, so many shows.... several hundred bands later, I'd say my favorite show was actually an Irish wake. The Slane Festival. Slane Castle in 2001. Bono had buried his Dad the day before. The band had played at the castle once before 20 years before, when they were just starting out. They opened for the biggest band to ever come out of Ireland (Thin Lizzy). In 2001, U2 held the title. Openers were Red Hot Chili Peppers (another great live show), Coldplay (fantastic live band), Kelis (I'm not into their music but they played well), and JJ72 (a Dublin band I'd never heard but who played amazingly well and I now love dearly). Everybody got to play full sets. So many things going on that day, such a huge crowd, I'm actually surprised I survived.
The best concert ive ever been to was by far L.A. Rising in August that featured Rise Against, Immortal Technique, and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE a.k.a. the best band in the history of man. And if you wanna see the proper way to mosh than watch the first video (look for the red backpacker, thats me
but when RAGE came on everybody lost their fucking minds and we started lighting fires inside the mosh pits as we were moshing.
Best concert was a dream come true. It was during Sled Island, which is a music fest in my city. My two favorite bands - Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and WHY? - Played the same venue, the same night, one right after the other. I was the happiest mother fucker in the room.
I've seen Ted twice in Seattle, but it was so special to see him in my home town. It was my first time ever seeing WHY? and they fucking rocked it - they had a huge moshpit going and everything.
I still can't believe it happened- and even now, it still makes me happy to think about. Best night evar
Can't remember my first concert. was a long time ago. as for best.. either In Flames at Mayhem Fest last summer or 30 Seconds to Mars.. best show? (I don't count it as a concert but a lot of people do so....) Emilie Autumn's burlesque 'concerts' (going again in a week)
Clam bake 2000. 2 days closing with sepultura, sevendust, slayer and then slipknot. remember being too waxed to hop in the pit for slipknot. amazing concert!

My first concert would be the one my mom took me to in the third grade headlined by...The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Oh yeah! My mom bought me some toy nunchucks which I broke and then cried over. I won't say what year it was but if you're old enough you will remember when the TMNT were really big. I'm not sure if that counts since no one was actually singing or playing real instruments so I'll name another. About 6 years ago I saw This Providence, This Day & Age, and The Forecast open for June at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA. That was also my favorite show since that's when my long love affair with The Forecast really got started. Oh the memories
Best: either Hank III or the Adicts but the band that most consistently puts on great shows is Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, I've seen them five or six times and they are always awesome
My first was Rufio and Yellowcard (it was before Ocean Avenue came out I promise). I think that was roughly 10 years ago.
The best I've seen would be a toss-up between Mastodon, they played Blood Mountain all the way through, and Radiohead at this years Coachella, because it was Radiohead at Coachella.
