What was the first Album you ever purchased or recived, how old were you and do you still listen to it?
Mine was Paul Simon: Graceland, and I was 7 years old. I was obsessed with it. I think I still have the tape, it's been replaced by a CD now. I still listen to it and probably the one artist who still influences me.
The first album I ever bought with my own money was Primus: Frizzle Fry, or Nirvana: Nevermind, can't remember wich. Maybe it was The Doors: Soft Parade. I couldn't organize my collection autobiographical now
i think my parents got me a record that had 'peter and the wolf' on one side, and 'tubby the tuba' on the other, when i was like, 2 or something...
after that, there was an oscar the grouch album that had 'i love trash' on it, the disney peter pan record, a winnie the pooh album [the a.a. milne version, not the disney]...
my favorite record during the pre-school years was this 'boston pops for kids' record, which had the theme from sesame street and the nutcracker suite on it. my favorite thing to do was to put that record on dance around my living room.
My first record ever was Iggy Pop "the idiot." I think I was seven. Soon thereafter I went for the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever and Alice Cooper's "We're all crazy." I got the Kiss "Destroyer" lp just before I saw their show when I was 8 and then Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever" or wait, was it called "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang"?
fuckin GNR LIES!!!! i'd like to think it turned me into the badass i am today... exept for one in a million, i dont really like that song, but at this point in time, it's more of something to make fun of than to offend me. Axl's an idiot, but a badass idiot.
