Raw Power has a new album out today, it's called "still screaming after 20 years". Its oout on six week at the band rips just like they did 20 ears ago. This is

shit, are Raw Power still going? I remember being full into them at the time, along with The Shitlickers, Mob 47, Rattus, Terveet Kadet, The Bristles, etc. Damn, them were the days
Talking of 20 year anniversaries, i'm still in touch with the other members of my very first band from 1985, and we're getting back together in 2 years time to record a CD and do some gigs. The band was called Rancid Armpitz (but we changed it to Septicemia for our first demo) and we also had a review in Maximum Rock n Roll! We wern't anything special and practically unheard of outside of the UK, but we thought it would be fun (and sad in a geeky kinda way) to resurrect all our old songs and re-record them in the digital age!
i saw raw power at the loft in baltimore in '85. they played for about five minutes, until the drummer cut his head on a cymbal and had to be hospitalized. of course, they managed to do about ten songs in that five minutes. they rocked, but they were hilarious, cuz they were all decked out in spandex and whatnot. i remember one of the guys in the band was leaning against a car saying, "hey ladies! any of you want to fuck?" in his italian accent. unfortunately for him, there were no takers. still, a rockin' show!

I saw Raw Power in Detroit in the early 80's with six of the best bands in the midwest hardcore scene. During the show the police showed up and there was a virtual LA style cops vs. punks riot. Very crazy scene but such an incredible band. Honestly though, after 20 years I can't imagine even trying them out. What they had back in the day was incredible but now it would just seem, well, shameful. I will stick to my memories!
